Whenever I look at the press information for this brand, the famous song by the Kinks pops into my head – you know, the one that goes, ‘la la la la Lola, la la la la Lo-la’?
Anyway, back to the subject in hand! The M&S Your Beauty retail space has been blessed with LOLA, a 307-strong range of British designed, Italian made, trend-driven cosmetics featuring premium colour pigments and formulations.
I’ve had a few samples to play with, and in the picture below from left to right is Matte Eyeshadow in shade 026 (£10), Nail Polish in shade 014 Brilliant Red (£8), and the wonderful Matte Long-Lasting Lipstick in shade 102 Dominatrix (£12).
Application-wise, the eyeshadow texture is like silk and glides onto the skin, while the lipstick gives superb colour pay-off and velvety matte results. Prices range from £8 to £26 which is very accessible considering the range’s professional grade quality and performance.
So get down to M&S and have a play, I’m definitely keen to see more of this burgeoning brand. LOLA is also available online at www.lolamakeup.com.
