Bio Sculpture Gel Carnival Collection SS14

Bio Sculpture Gel Carnival Collection SS14

Bio Sculpture is the original everlasting gel manicure, and what’s so great about the brand is that there are 150+ colours to choose from – an almost impossible task when faced with selecting just one as there are some amazing pastels, nudes and brights.

I recently had my first Bio Sculpture manicure in a very long time (more on that and the amazing neon colour I opted for in May), and so far, so good.

172 Favela Sunrise spilling

An interesting point of difference about the Bio Sculpture manicure process is that, instead of a traditional bottle, the technician uses a pot of nail colour and a brush to hand paint each nail – this gives greater control and a more precise finish.

And you needn’t worry about the condition of your nails, as a vitamin-infused treatment is applied underneath the colour to promote growth and strength, and ensure that there is no damage and minimal dehydration when the gel is removed. Again, look out for my post in May, when I’ll tell you if this is indeed the case.

175 Havana Nights pool

The spring/summer 14 colour range Carnival Collection, seen above, is inspired by the vibrant colours of the Brazilian carnival and features pop shades of watermelon (Favela Sunrise, pictured top), cobalt blue (Havana Nights, above), neon pink (Ipanema Sunset) and electric purple (Samba Your Socks Off, above middle).

I think it’s one of the best colour line-ups I’ve seen in a while – that purple is to die for…

Manicures start at £25; visit www.biosculpture.co.uk for information on your nearest salon.
