02 Apr Vita Liberata Skin Respect Anti Age Luxury Instant & Lasting Tinted Tan Lotion
Vita Liberata’s Luxury Instant & Lasting Tinted Tan Lotion (£40) from the new Skin Respect range has possibly the longest name ever!
Skin Respect is a collection of anti-age skincare and tanning products containing calming and nourishing properties, including chamomile and neroli oil. I’m not sure how a self-tanning product can be anti-ageing but I like the fact that they contain organic botanicals.
But extended names aside, what’s it like? I really rate Vita Liberata products, so I was excited to try this, possibly a little too excited as I didn’t read the instructions first.
So first piece of advice: read the instructions. Not that there are many to be honest, but with fake tan it’s better to swot up before you apply.
The formula is chocolate sauce brown and when I started applying it to my legs it didn’t appear to be blending very well at all – I was using my usual circular motions with a mitt.
If you remember when St Tropez launched their original ‘swamp monster’ self-tan formula you’ll understand how it looked – dark, streaky and muddy. I’m not sure what I was doing wrong as it’s meant to deliver a flawless, instant and natural bronze, but I knew that once I washed it off all would be fine.
The tan develops over 4-8 hours and lasts up to 7 days. I can’t comment on how well it lasts or fades as I only applied it last night, but I ended up washing it off after 3 hours as I needed to go to bed and didn’t want stained sheets.
And the result? Amazing! A perfect, streak-free and flawless colour that looked totally natural. No patchy bits whatsoever.
As far as odour goes, I didn’t notice anything at all, thanks to a unique property called ‘Odour Remove’ which results in zero smell.
Vita Liberata, I knew you wouldn’t let me down! Now I just need to get used to the initial application, maybe I will use a Vita Liberata mitt next time.
