She's electric

She's electric

So here we are, my first ‘official’ blog, inspired by an
electric purple nail polish that came my way at a recent
Boots spring press event, seen on my nails below. It’s
No7 Stay Perfect Nail Colour in Vivid Violet.
Gorgeous, don’t you think?

It’s the kind of colour that transports me to the
dancefloors of Studio 54 (a place
I’d definitely go if they
ever invent a time capsule– I imagine it would be
teaming with skintight lurex disco
pants similar to this
strong metallic purple.

And as it happens there are peacock shades a-plenty
kicking around this season, so you can take your pick
from electric green, teal, blue, purple and neon pink.

Urban Decay are definitely nailing this trend right now;
I love the 24/7 Waterproof Liquid Eyeliner in Siren.IMGP1004 - Version 2

Also from Urban Decay is the 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil
in Lust, and Eyeshadow in Deep End – this would look
amazing on brown eyes.

Another fab product for all you disco divas is Collection’s
Glam Crystals Dazzling Gel Liner in the aptly-named
Le Freak. Less metallic, more glitter, it’s pretty full-on
and so best saved for nights out.

If strong colour scares you, you may want to try No7
Stay Perfect Metallic Eyes Pencil in Blue, which is a
softer, smudgier deep blue.

And for lips, I adore Urban Decay’s Super-Saturated
High Gloss Lip Color in Crush – a neon pink. It’s
not metallic, but totally hot-to-trot in its own right as
you can see below.

So have fun with these ladies, and don’t be scared to
experiment – at the very least dip into the trend by
painting your nails. Let me know how you get on.
