03 Jun NEW Ole Henriksen Perfect Truth CC Creme
Have you got your head around the new CC creams? CC creams are ‘complexion correctors’ that are hugely popular in the Asian beauty market; unlike a BB cream which offers more in the way of coverage like a tinted moisturiser, CC’s are essentially primers that even out your skintone.
New to the UK market is Ole Henriksen Perfect Truth CC Creme SPF30 (£29, picture supplied). Available in two shades – light and medium – the first thing you notice about this product is its sweet smell, akin to a high-end cake shop. Mmmm.
There is a scarily long list of ingredients in this ‘youth defending complexion corrector’ which some people may find off-putting. However a fair few are fruit extracts (orange, lemon, grapefruit) for a Vitamin C boost, plus it also contains ferulic acid, a super antioxidant derived from plants.
I found that it did a pretty good job of evening out my skin, while coverage was actually better than I was expecting.
A bonus is the broad spectrum SPF30, which means you’ll be protected when in the sun, on the beach or piste. In fact you should definitely pack this in your suitcase, as ferulic acid has been found to increase its antioxidant activity when exposed to UV rays.
It’s available now from John Lewis, and nationwide at Selfridges, Harvey Nichols and feelunique.com from end of June.
