Nail and beauty guru Leighton Denny has just launched an in-salon gel nail colour – how exciting!
And I had the opportunity to try LonGELity first-hand (pun intended) earlier today at the press launch.
If you’ve ever tried a gel manicure before, you will know that colour selection is often limited. Not so with LonGELity, in fact there are 20 of Leighton’s best-selling shades to choose from, plus four glitter coats, so making your mind up is not easy, believe me.
The hybrid colour – a combination of high performance polish mixed with premium gel polymers – will give you perfectly painted, chip-free nails for up to three weeks.
The formula, said to be like skincare for nails, also includes minerals, vitamins A&E and panthenol to provide care and promote healthy growth.
My mood and the season often dictates the colour I choose to wear on my nails, along with if I have any special events, parties or trips planned.
I’m currently into greens, blues, browns and greys, as well as nude tones, but with a few functions and an overseas trip coming up I wanted something easy to wear (I tend to choose darker shades when I’m having a manicure as you have a professional painting them!), but also suitable for business in the Caribbean.
So it had to be Vamp, a timeless deep red wine colour which is smart for day and dressy for night.
The application took around 45 minutes in total, and I had three thin coats applied, plus a top coat, all speedily cured under LED light. As far as the colour goes, I think I made the right decision, don’t you?
