Tried and tested: Philips HR1861 Juicer

Tried and tested: Philips HR1861 Juicer

Inspired by my recent healthy travels, I’ve upgraded my juicer and started juicing every morning to step up my fruit and vegetable intake.

My new toy is the Philips HR1861 juicer, and I absolutely love it! Not only does it make a full glass of juice thanks to its wide chute which can take a whole apple in one go, it’s a quick and easy way of getting a few portions of your ‘5 a day’. And a massive bonus is it’s super-easy to clean – if it wasn’t user-friendly I probably wouldn’t keep using it!

With this particular model* you also get The Juice Master book by Jason Vale (Harper Thorsons), which contains over 100 recipes for juices and smoothies, including a chapter with beauty-inspired recipes such as strengthening nails and promoting healthier hair.

Here it is with a Vitamin C loaded juice I made this morning – the Sunny de’Bright, which contains 2 juicy oranges, 1 apple, 1 lime and ice:

The RRP is around £100 (although I have found numerous online retail outlets selling it for less), which sounds pricey, but when you consider how much you’ll save on having to buy packaged juice from the supermarket, in my opinion it’s a fantastic investment. Won’t do your health any harm, either!

*please note I cannot guarantee the availability of this book with any future purchases of this particular model of Philips juicer

I have this juicer and it rocks! I use it all the time…3 apples with 1cm of lemon over ice is AMAZING! Tastes likes old fashioned lemonade and its good for you too 🙂 cheers!

I am going to try that one Hannah! Any particular apples? I normally use Golden Delicious!
