06 Jun Sleek MakeUP Bare Skin Foundation
I’ve never tried Sleek MakeUP before, but having had a taste of the quality (and price) of this high street beauty range at an event last week, I’m really rather impressed.
The new foundation, Bare Skin (£8.99), is rather good. I had it colour-matched to my skintone and applied over the top of my mineral make-up at the launch event, by one of the brand’s make-up artists – something I wouldn’t normally be down with, for fear of looking a bit ‘cakey’ afterwards.
But it actually blended seamlessly into my skin, giving a nice amount of coverage and evenness, without any dry or cakey patches. And according to my fellow launcher, it also looked good outside in the daylight.
The shade that was colour-matched to my skin was White Rose; the shade in the pictures is Shell which also works for me.
A note on coverage: the bottle says light, I say light-to-medium – an ideal base for those looking to even out their skintone as it does a fairly good job of concealing minor blemishes.
It’s very moisturising, feels weightless on the skin and is also buildable. I haven’t worn it for more than a few hours so can’t comment on staying power, but I’m curious to see how it fares.
There are 12 shades to suit all skin tones, so if you’re looking for a new foundation that doesn’t cost the earth and like the sound of this, why not give it a try?
I also have some rather lovely Sleek MakeUP colour palettes that simply must be seen – I will post about them soon!
Sleek MakeUP is available from www.sleekmakeup.com, as well as selected Boots stores, www.boots.com, Superdrug stores and www.superdrug.com.
