11 Sep NEW Guerlain Timeproof Foundation SPF20
After a summer of wearing barely-there BB and CC creams, smoothing on a proper foundation is like slipping into your favourite winter coat, it covers you up that little bit more and makes you feel ‘dressed.’
And when the foundation is by Guerlain, it’s like wearing a coat by a top designer – you don’t want to take it off, it’s pure unadulterated luxury. A slight exaggeration maybe, but nevertheless a good analogy in my book!
I’m definitely a foundation in winter kind of girl and Guerlain’s new base, Tenue de Perfection or Timeproof Foundation SPF20 (£37), is perfect for easing the skin switch into the cooler months.
I’ve been testing the shade 03 Beige Naturel and I like the way you can build it up if you need a bit more coverage in certain places.
I had to use a little concealer over a couple of stubborn red blemishes but it does a good job in covering most things up and gives a velvety finish. I also used a dusting of powder to diffuse any shiny areas.
And by jove it lasts, from early morning to bedtime to be precise. The colour stays true and it even smells nice, something I wouldn’t normally expect or demand from a foundation.
It’s available now from Harrods, John Lewis, House of Fraser and Debenhams. Stockist info: 01932 233 887.
