26 May Lavera Self-Tanning Face Cream
I’ve recently discovered German organic brand Lavera, and have been particularly interested in its new sun collection, which includes SPF products and face and body tanners.
More on the SPF products another time, as this post is all about the Self-Tanning Face Cream (£10.90 for 50ml). I find that a lot of facial self-tanners tend to make my face go a little too dark for my liking, so I was interested to see how long after glycolic acid can I moisturize and how this fared.
First things first – only one word can describe the smell: sublime. Always a plus point!
Moving on to the vegan formula and application, key ingredients are organic macadamia oil, aloe vera, evening primrose oil and organic sunflower oil.
The all-natural tanning ingredients are derived from sugar and rapeseed oil and contain no man-made chemicals at all, which is great news for natural fans. I did notice on the ingredients list that fragrance has been added, but this is derived from natural essential oils.
The white cream applies easily, absorbs quickly and leaves skin feeling hydrated. You can expect to see a natural, subtle tan in around five hours.
I used it on my face, neck and decolletage, and found I didn’t need to use much to achieve an even and realistic glow with no streaks.
If you like to build your colour, you can use it everyday, although I found that one application was enough for me. The tan lasted a few days.
The Lavera sun care range is available from selected Holland & Barrett stores, www.hollandandbarrett.com and www.lavera.co.uk
