07 Mar ishga seaweed skincare
In a recent article for a national newspaper I predicted that, in a backlash against products containing large amounts of chemicals and toxins, high-tech natural and organic ingredients would be big this year. And then I came across ishga.
Ishga, derived from the Gaelic word for water, is a 100% organic Scottish seaweed skincare brand that uses Hebridean seaweed – the Hebrides has some of the cleanest waters in the world, and the hand-harvested seaweed contains high levels of natural antioxidants called polyphenols, that have anti-ageing properties to help protect the skin by neutralising free radical damage.
Along with vitamins, minerals and trace elements (plus the aforementioned seaweed and antioxidants), the brand also uses water from a historial Hebridean healing spring; these truly are authentic and credible organic products.
There are currently five skincare products in the range – a cleansing lotion, serum, toner, face mask and cream. There’s also a body oil, a body lotion and a sea salt and oil scrub. They look and feel great and I’ve only just started using them but first impressions are more than good.
I won’t post a review as I believe that skincare is subjective and what works for one person may not work for another, but if you’re interested in using more products that don’t contain a shedload of chemicals, ishga is worth checking out.
Prices for the skincare start at £25 for the toner. Buy online at www.ishga.co.uk.
