Avon Luxe Silken Foundation

Avon Luxe Silken Foundation

The last post I did on Avon’s new make-up offering had lots of interest, so I was keen to test out their new ‘Luxe’ foundation to see how it performed.

Here’s what it says on the packaging: ‘Luxurious, silk-infused foundation perfects skin for a seamless soft-focus effect.’

I’ve got my hands on the Porcelain shade (the lightest out of the five on offer) and first impressions are good – the packaging looks premium and the shade itself seems pretty neutral, not too warm or cool toned. Plus there’s an SPF of 20.

A tip: pump some out on the back of your hand first before applying with your fingers as it’s easy to dispense too much in one go.

The colour match is spot on and coverage very good – I would say medium. However it did pick up some dryness on my nose and at the top of my cheekbones – my delicate skin is starting to suffer now in the cold weather and is quite dehydrated, so no real suprise there!

The finish is fairly matte and it feels weightless on the skin so this would be a good choice for evenings or when you’re going for a fully made up look.

Overall I liked this foundation but it’s not quite hydrating enough for me at this time of year. Will try again next spring!

Avon Luxe Silken Foundation is currently only £10 (normally £14) online at www.avonshop.co.uk

sounds interesting! At the moment, I’m loving the Hourglass Veil Fluid foundation which is hydrating and includes anti-aging ingredients in! It’s one of the best finishes, kind of similar to NARS Sheer Glow, but a more glowy finish and with skincare ingredients. You can see my review on my blog at storybookapothecary.com if you like ♥

I’ve always wanted to try avon foundation. I just may have to give this a try. Hopefully I can find a shade that matches me. 🙂

Yes it’s a shame there’s only 5 shades – but maybe they will introduce more in the future!

Thanks for the review, sometimes in winter when my skin is a bit dry I will mix some moisturiser in with foundation and it usually stops my skin from looking dry, my nose is my problem are for dryness as well x

Just checked the site and the darkest seems to be Warm Bisque – hopefully they will add to their shades as 5 isn’t many to choose from!
