Three new fragrances to love

Three new fragrances to love

There’s been a cluster of interesting new fragrance launches over the last couple of months, so I thought I’d share some of them with you!

First up we have BOSS Ma Vie Pour Femme (from £35 for 30ml EDP), a fresh and feminine update to the successful BOSS Nuit and BOSS Jour.

ma vie

This green floral fragrance was inspired by the beauty of the elements – the sun, flowers, desert sand, blue sky, a dawn walk… The composition features three predominant notes in the top, heart and base – Cactus Blossom (for modernity), Pink Floral Bouquet with Rose Bud (for femininity) and Cedarwood (for confidence).

For me, this spells sophistication, energy and empowerment and is the perfect daytime/work scent – for some reason BOSS fragrances don’t linger on my skin for long though. Love the power pink packaging too, an unexpected but nice departure for the brand.

Next – Narciso Eau de Parfum (from £39 for 30ml EDP). Narciso is behind one of my favourite scents this year – the addictive and very pretty L’Eau Narciso Rodriguez for Her.

But while that particular fragrance is perfection for the sweet and flirty filly, this new addition is for the out-and-out sex bomb!

And Mr Rodriguez has done it again, as this too is right up my street. Warm, sensual and seductive, it’s a woody floral that includes vetiver, voluptous musk softened by amber, white and dark cedars and florals, namely lucid gardenia and soft radiant Bulgarian rose. Sex in a bottle, basically.

Finally, the dark horse of the trio – or should that be dark and light horse! My friend, the talented Leighton Denny MBE, has just launched his first fragrance, called Light & Dark (£43.50). And according to the man himself, it’s the perfect tool for seduction.

light and dark

Described as a modern ‘floriental’, of which I have been known to wear in the past, the composition features a blend of absolute oils including fruity top notes of mandarin, grapefruit, peach and white pepper, with a heart of gardenia, jasmine, lily and rose.

Upon first spritz you get a hit of pepper combined with those fruity notes – it’s almost got a unisex vibe about it. But the base is where the sexiness kicks in, and the best thing about this classic scent is that you could wear it both day or night, which sums up its dual personality of ‘light’ and ‘dark’.

BOSS Ma Vie Pour Femme and Narciso Eau De Parfum are available from selected department stores nationwide; Leighton Denny Light & Dark is available from a range of boutique retailers, including Richard Ward Metrospa and online at www.LD-Scent.com and www.leightondenny.com
