Pure Gold Collagen: feed your skin from within

Pure Gold Collagen: feed your skin from within

I have been known to pop a pill in the past to help me tan better, and I’ve also taken numerous beauty supplements on and off, although I often forget and then fall out of the habit – you know what I mean!

So when I was introduced to Pure Gold Collagen shots I was intrigued but also a little sceptical, along with doubting my own ability to actually take them daily.

Pure Gold Collagen has been developed to promote youthful skin, support skin hydration, help support healthy hair and nails, and reduce the appearance of wrinkles. It contains hydrolysed collagen plus hyaluronic acid and other vitamins and minerals including Vitamins C, E and B6, copper and zinc, to feed the skin from within.

It’s recommended that you drink a shot (a bottle) a day, ideally for four weeks, although for best results you should persevere for eight weeks or longer. Sounds do-able, especially as I then discovered that it’s made in Japan, and the Asians definitely know their beauty.

It works by being absorbed into the small intestine, from here it makes it’s way via the blood vessels to the deeper layer of the skin (the dermis, where creams cannot reach), resulting in the multiplication and stimulation of collagen-making cells to produce more collagen and hyaluronic acid in the dermis.

Some impressive clinical studies have proved it’s effectiveness; after 30 days the skin of each test subject showed significant signs of improvement, with moisture levels increasing by 46%, skin firmness by 16% and a decrease in depth of wrinkles by 27%.

First hurdle – the taste. If I didn’t like it, I knew that my three boxes would go untouched. The good news is that it’s really rather pleasant – sweet, a bit fruity and no problem to drink in three gulps. Bonus! For those interested, it’s actually sugar free and naturally sweetened with Stevia.

I’ve been taking Pure Gold Collagen regularly for just under two weeks now and within a matter of days, I noticed that my skin was not as dry as it normally is at this time of year – my foundation applies easier and I don’t have my usual annoying flaky patches.

I’m seriously impressed with the results so far and would recommend this to anyone with dry or dehydrated skin. It’s probably a little early to say if I’m looking any younger, but ask me in 18 days (when I drink my last bottle) and I’ll let you know!

Pure Gold Collagen costs £35.99 for a box of 10, 50ml bottles and is available from Boots stores nationwide and www.boots.com

I know what you mean! But my skin is definitely more hydrated, going to finish the shots and see if I look 10 years younger!
